Big Beaver is a borough in Beaver County, Pennsylvania. It is located in the western most part of the state, with Ohio on its western border. Big Beaver is part of the Pittsburgh Metropolitan Statistical Area, about 50 minutes away by car from Pittsburgh. According to the United States Census Bureau of 2000, Big Beaver has a population of 2,186. The borough has a total area of 18.0 square miles of which, 17.8 square miles of it is land and 0.2 square miles of it is water. The borough has a relatively low population density of 122.7 per square mile. Big Beaver has over 850 households and the median income for a household in the borough is $37,297, and the median income for a family is $43,523. The makeup of racial demographics in Big Beaver are 98.17% White, 0.69% African American, 0.23% Native American, 0.18% Asian, 0.18% from other races, and 0.55% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race makeup 0.78% of the population.
